To people of GEEC,
This is Phil speaking, and I voiced an opinion late last Spring that we should hit the pavement running with GEEC this year and start some scheduled programs in various freshman halls in order to publicize ourselves. Admittedly, that helps me personally because I can get AUAP programming points for these activities if I play my cards right, and if I can talk RAs into the plan, they can pitch in and get points, too.
My idea involves somebody awesome designing posters for us that we would then get approved rapidly and put up everywhere around campus. This agenda could include whatever themes people want and any mixture, of board games, ccg, table-tops, and whatever [glow=red,2,300]electronic[/glow] add-ons we could get away with. I'm thinking we could do three activity nights in Bassetties halls, two activities in Al-Monty/Carmody, and perhaps on night in Kamola. That's all heavily subject to change for people's preferences as well as scheduling.
Anyhow, I am completely willing to take care of scheduling with RAs in the halls because I will meet them two weeks before the welcome weekend. In order to pull this off, I'm gonna need some information, some creative ideas, and some supplies. I anticipate that it will be difficult getting our club re-affiliated as it always is, so we may have to resort to publicizing out schedule through the RAs rather than GEEC. Who knows? Also, if at all possible, I would like to hold a meeting for interested participants and planners on the very first week of school, if not the week before it. At that point, we can assemble our schedule, make a poster, and disperse it.
So, please respond to this post or reply to me, fang.of.fenris@hotmail.com if you want to help. I look forward to a good year!
