Name - Jorial of Celestia
Race - Oldari (Half-Elf)
Class - Ranger
Jorial of Celestia, being so-called after being disowned, is trained in the way of the sea and woodland as a navigator and ranger. He spent the majority of his youth on ships, trading between Celestia and other coastal cities. This experience hardened Jorial to the harsh realities of life in the post-imperial age. His days were spent unfurling sails, heaving barrels onto musty decks, and skirmishing with the pirates of the open sea. By night, Jorial trained under his captain, James Norsman, in the trade of navigation by map, star, and sextant. Jorial eventually became a skilled navigator, and took up a position as chief of navigation of the vessel.
However, those hard days and long nights eventually took a toll on Jorial's body. Years of heavy drinking below deck had granted him a dependency on alcohol; and although his mates aboard the ship respected and admired him for his skill, Jorial's habit eventually began to take a toll on the morale of the crew. The problem reached its height one month ago, when Jorial failed to spot a pirate vessel in the distance during his watch at night due to drunkenness. Although the pirates were driven off, Jorial was reprimanded by his long-time captain, and cast off the ship at Greysmere.
Jorial has spent the last few weeks milling around Greysmere taverns, doing small tasks when he could. Although still accepted among the sailor's guild, Jorial has been unable to find work on a ship, and has instead been relegated to loading crates on the docks. However, his drinking habit has failed to subside, and Jorial has found himself desperately searching for work abroad. Perhaps some adventurers will need a ranger's guidance, perhaps a trader will need a navigator, or perhaps there will be some grave emergency in which he may find some use in himself. Who knows what the future holds?
